How to Root Samsung Galaxy S3 on XXUGMJ9 Jellybean 4.3 Android OS


As most of you Android lovers out there already know, the Galaxy S3 has just received its official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean firmware update.

Named as XXUGMJ9, this latest version is also expected to be the greatest version of Jelly Bean. For all the users whose Galaxy S3 device is on the XXUGMJ9 firmware, you will now be able to use the CF root method to root the firmware. . You can definitely maximize the usage in your Galaxy S3 by rooting the device. Sadly, the Jellybean 4.3 for Galaxy S3 International version is not yet officially available.

How to Root Galaxy S3 on XXUGMJ9 Jellybean 4.3 Android OS:

  1. Download to your computer and extract the file: Rooting Package for XXUGMJ9 Jellybean 4.3.
  2. Also download the Odin and extract the file to get Odin3 v3.07.exe.
  3. Put your Galaxy S3 in Download mode. For this, turn off your phone and wait for around 5-6 seconds to confirm the same. Now press and hold the Volume Down button and the Home key button (the middle button). While keeping both the buttons pressed, switch ON your device by pressing the Power button.
  4. Sometimes your device might enter the Normal mode instead. Then keep retrying the above process until you enter the Download mode.
  5. Now connect your phone to the computer using a USB cable. The COM section turns yellow indicating that all the drivers are successfully installed and device is added.
  6. Now go to the extracted zip file and click on “PDA” so as to select the rooting file.
  7. Hit the Start button for starting the flashing process. The process takes around 4-5 minutes. The phone will boot automatically once the rooting process is completed successfully. Once the process is completed, the Home screen appears. Now you can disconnect your phone from the computer.
  8. To double check the rooting process you can download “Root Checker” app from the Google PLAY Store. It will let you know if your device was perfectly rooted or not. If the rooting was unsuccessful, then please retry the entire procedure of rooting again.
